  • EQUINE POTOMAVAC vaccine to aid in the prevention of Potomac Horse Fever

  • It has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy horses 3 months of age or older against Potomac Horse Fever (equine monocytic ehrlichiosis) due to Neorickettsia risticii.

  • Safe for use for healthy horses, 3 months of age or older

Dosage & Administration

Shake well before use. Aseptically inject 1 mL (1 dose) intramuscularly (IM) into healthy horses 3 months of age or older.

 

Revaccinate with a second 1mL dose intramuscularly 3-4 weeks later.

 

Revaccinate annually or prior to anticipated exposure.

  • Use entire contents when first opened

  • Shake well before using

  • Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter

  • Contains gentamicin and thimerosal as preservatives

In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine. Vaccinating animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc. may not produce the desired results. This product has not been tested in pregnant mares.
