Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual response.
The recommended dosage of PREVICOX Chewable Tablets for oral administration is 2.27 mg/lb (5.0 mg/kg) once daily, regardless of the indication, and can be given with or without food. PREVICOX Chewable Tablets are available in 2 BBQ-flavored chewable tablet sizes that are highly accepted by dogs.3
Use for Osteoarthritis
Dogs can be treated with PREVICOX Chewable Tablets once daily for long-term use or as needed to control pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis (OA).
Use for Surgery
Dogs can be treated with PREVICOX Chewable Tablets approximately 2 hours prior to soft-tissue or orthopedic surgery, and the treatment can be continued once a day for up to 3 days to control postoperative pain and inflammation.

Contraindications: Dogs with known hypersensitivity to firocoxib should not receive PREVICOX® (firocoxib) Chewable Tablets.
Warnings: Not for use in humans. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children. Consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion by humans.
For oral use in dogs only. Use of this product at doses above the recommended 2.27 mg/lb (5.0 mg/kg) in puppies less than 7 months of age has been associated with serious adverse reactions, including death.
Due to tablet sizes and scoring, dogs weighing less than 12.5 lb (5.7 kg) cannot be accurately dosed.
Precautions: The safe use of PREVICOX Chewable Tablets in pregnant, lactating, or breeding dogs has not been evaluated.
As a class, cyclooxygenase inhibitory NSAIDs like PREVICOX Chewable Tablets may be associated with gastrointestinal, kidney, or liver side effects.
Concurrent use with another NSAID, corticosteroid, or nephrotoxic medication should be avoided or monitored closely. Dogs should be evaluated for pre-existing conditions and currently prescribed medications prior to treatment with PREVICOX Chewable Tablets, then monitored regularly while on therapy.
