3FLEX®

Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2), Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Mhp) and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) Vaccine

Details

3FLEX® is the only single-dose, three-way vaccine licensed by the USDA for use in swine to control PCV2, Mhp and PRRS. As part of the FLEX Family of swine vaccines, 3FLEX provides you the additional ability to customize a disease-control program where all three diseases are present.

The ultimate in customization for control of three respiratory diseases in swine: PCV2, Mhp and PRRS.

For most swine producers, a single 2-mL dose of 3FLEX replaces multiple injections of monovalent vaccines, saving time, labor, and the hassles and stress of handling pigs multiple times. More importantly, extensive research studies show that 3FLEX consistently provides effective protection against clinical disease associated with PCV2, Mhp and PRRS.

Features & Benefits

  • Customized control of three swine diseases
3FLEX® is the only USDA-approved combination vaccine for protection against PCV2, Mhp and PRRS in a single injection.
  • Fewer injections
3FLEX vaccine is easy to mix and is administered in a single 2-mL injection to pigs 3 weeks of age or older, reducing labor and stress of injecting pigs multiple times.
  • Research proven effective
Extensive research studies show lack of interference between antigens and a high level of immunization and product efficacy against three diseases.
  • FLEX Family product with ImpranFLEX®and DiaTEC
3FLEX is part of the FLEX Family of vaccines from Boehringer Ingelheim and contains the unique IMPRANFLEX aqueous-based polymer adjuvant for strong immune response and low risk of adverse reactions, and DiaTEC, which results in a non-virucidal vaccine providing producers and veterinarians with greater versatility.

3FLEX mixing directions

Directions and dosage:

  • Shake each bottle of liquid product before use.
  • Insert a vented transfer spike into Ingelvac MycoFLEX® 2 headspace bottle.
  • Invert the Ingelvac CircoFLEX® 1 bottle over the INGELVAC MYCOFLEX 2 bottle.
  • Transfer the full contents of the vaccine into the INGELVAC MYCOFLEX 2 bottle via the transfer spike and gently shake.
  • Remove the INGELVAC CIRCOFLEX 1 bottle, and slowly insert the transfer spike into the Ingvelvac PRRS® MLV 3 vaccine bottle, releasing the vacuum.
  • Transfer a portion of the mixed vaccine from the INGELVAC MYCOFLEX 2 bottle into the INGELVAC PRRS MLV bottle.
  • The amount transferred needs to be enough to rehydrate the INGELVAC PRRS MLV 3 product.
  • Flip the INGELVAC PRRS MLV 3 and Ingelvac MYCOFLEX 2 bottles — still attached by transfer spike — to transfer rehydrated product back into the INGELVAC MYCOFLEX 2 bottle.
  • Shake well and use immediately.
  • Rehydrate only with the accompanying vaccines; do not mix other materials.
  • Dosage: Using aseptic technique, inject a single 2-mL dose of vaccine intramuscularly.

3FLEX Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

  • Store in dark at 35-45° F (2-7° C). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. In case of anaphylactic reaction, epinephrine is symptomatic treatment. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
  • In addition, there is no interference between the individual antigens when administered to pigs as a single injection. This means 3FLEX® effectively immunizes pigs against all three diseases and there is low risk of adverse reactions.1,2

ImpranFLEX® Adjuvant

IMPRANFLEX is a proprietary water-based, sponge-like matrix adjuvant found in all FLEX Family vaccines that offers the following advantages:

  • Does not contain and is not derived from any material of plant or animal origin
  • 100 percent oil free
  • Low viscosity and good syringeability
  • Very safe for farm staff and animals
  • Less stressful for the animals

DiaTEC and IMPRANFLEX – the Perfect Combination

Boehringer Ingelheim’s DiaTEC process is a unique, patented diafiltration process that removes residual cell media components from the antigens, or virus-like particles (VLPs), in the vaccine, resulting in a non-virucidal vaccine. And thanks to this state-of-the-art purification process, INGLEVAC CIRCOFLEX is now non-virucidal, easing the mixing process with modified-live INGELVAC PRRS MLV when using 3FLEX. DiaTEC and IMPRANFLEX work together to offer the following advantages:

  •  Strong efficacy for full cellular protection

  • Unmatched safety for sows and piglets

  • Rapid onset and long-lasting immunity

  • Depot effect

  • Three antigens in one shot
